SUMMARY
Serving as a field resource for the Company, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will support the company’s neurology/psychiatry Phase II clinical development pipeline. The MSL will work full time to educate, analyze, and resolve issues with clinical research sites and investigators to support efforts to improve recruitment and activation timelines.
The MSL will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with key stakeholders including clinical investigators and site staff to represent the company with the goal of improving enrollment, expanding current therapeutic concepts, and achieving enrollment and retention goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strengthen the organization’s scientific presence and credibility in neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia and bipolar depression
- Maintain deep clinical and scientific expertise within the neuropsychiatric area
- Partner with investigators and site staff to support clinical trials, ensuring understanding of protocols and patient requirements
- Identify and recommend new clinical trial sites; support feasibility, site selection, and site initiation activities
- Provide consistent, compliant scientific support to investigators and site personnel
- Identify barriers to trial execution and contribute solutions to enhance recruitment and retention
- Act as a field-based scientific resource, addressing trial-related questions and challenges
- Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals
- Collaborate cross-functionally with medical affairs, clinical development, and operations teams
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a compliant manner
- Support scientific meetings, advisory boards, and conference activities
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA) or equivalent terminal degree with appropriate clinical experience and scientific background
- 2+ years’ CNS/Neuropsychiatry clinical, academic and/or medical experience required
- Prior experience as an MSL (3-6 years); preferably with a clinical trial focus in a pre-launch setting
- Proven ability to engage Investigators/KOLs in non-promotional, scientific exchange
- Ability to travel, locally and regionally, up to 50% with overnight stays (car, plane, train)
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and Pharmaceutical Association Codes, including regulations governing compliant scientific exchange
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and work in cross functional network/matrix
- Demonstrated project management ability
