Virtual Medical Science Liaison – Rare Disease (North America, US)

Inizio Engage is seeking a Virtual Medical Science Liaison (vMSL) to support our client’s North America Medical – Rare Disease organization. This innovative role is designed to expand compliant scientific access to a broader range of healthcare providers (HCPs) through virtual engagement. Operating in a reactive, on-demand capacity, the vMSL delivers timely, accurate, and high-quality scientific exchange via approved virtual channels, complementing the work of territory-based MSLs and enabling critical stakeholder engagement.

What will you be doing?

• Serve as a credible medical/scientific expert, increasing HCP confidence in making informed clinical decisions related to rare disease states and therapies.
• Respond to unsolicited medical questions from HCPs via approved virtual channels, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant scientific exchange.
• Expand access to medical information by engaging with HCPs who may not typically be reached by territory-based MSLs.
• Act as a responsive, solutions-driven conduit to the medical community.
• Collaborate with field-based MSLs, Medical Information, and internal partners to ensure seamless handoffs and a positive HCP experience, while maintaining strict compliance guardrails.
• Contribute to projects and initiatives aligned with US Medical strategy, objectives, and tactics.
• Consistently achieve medical excellence goals, both qualitative and quantitative, through high-value engagement plans.
• Document all interactions and capture HCP medical insights in Veeva to inform medical and clinical strategy.
• While primarily virtual, occasional travel may be required for internal meetings, HCP engagements, and/or conferences.

What do you need for this position?

Required:

• Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree; doctoral level (MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred
• Experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a similar role within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry preferred
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including occasional overnight and weekend travel
• Strong communication skills: communicates concisely, confidently, and credibly; adapts messaging to diverse audiences with empathy
• Comfortable working in a digital/virtual environment; embraces technology and new systems with willingness to learn
• Highly accountable, motivated by meeting/exceeding metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:

• Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in rare diseases
• Prior experience with Friedreich’s Ataxia or other rare disease therapeutic areas
