Medical Science Liaison

Role Overview & Key Functions:

As we prepare for potential upcoming launches, Karyopharm is seeking to connect with experienced Medical Science Liaisons across the United States. Medical Science Liaisons at Karyopharm serve as trusted scientific partners to the medical community, engaging thought leaders and healthcare professionals across hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Areas of focus may include multiple myeloma, myelofibrosis, endometrial cancer, and select rare diseases aligned with near-term launch readiness and longer-term pipeline development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with community and academic thought leaders at the local, regional, and national level.
  • Serve as Karyopharm’s scientific representative, facilitating the appropriate exchange of scientific and clinical information.
  • Provide clinical and health-economic information to payers and managed care stakeholders, as appropriate.
  • Utilize approved resources in compliance with FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and company guidelines.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations to support trial awareness, enrollment, and identification of potential investigators or sites.
  • Support investigator-sponsored research activities.
  • Communicate therapeutic insights and market trends that may impact Karyopharm’s medical and pipeline strategy.
  • Participate in advisory boards, steering committees, and cross-functional project teams.
  • Contribute to MSL best practices and support team development as roles mature.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Advanced doctoral degree preferred (e.g. PharmD, MD, DO, or PhD). Candidates with a clinical background (e.g. MSN, PA) and extensive hematology/oncology MSL experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of MSL experience in hematology, oncology, and/or select rare diseases required.
  • Experience in multiple myeloma, myelofibrosis, or gynecologic oncology strongly preferred.
  • Product launch experience a plus.
  • Clinical experience beneficial.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to excel in dynamic settings with short timelines.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with influential thought leaders.
  • Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as necessary (up to 75% including some weekends).

  • In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $190K to $210K per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
