This position supports a fast-paced compounding pharmacy with a dynamic and energetic team of individuals. We are currently seeking a Verification Pharmacist for our Closed Door Pharmacy. This position will utilize his/her skills and experiences to uphold pharmacy standards for reviewing prescriptions, dispensing, record keeping and quality assurance programs. A pharmacist will be able to demonstrate leadership by coaching and mentoring pharmacy team members. 

Responsibilities: 

• Review and interpret veterinarian orders and prescriptions for appropriateness to ensure that overdoses or under-doses have not been prescribed and that interactions, incompatibilities or toxic compounds will not result from combination of medications. 
• Manages prescription work flow process, correcting internal and external errors, obtaining prescription documentation, and documenting patient profiles
• Will verify prescriptions to pets in accordance with policy and in conformance with regulations and laws dealing with the class of prescription; counsels’ patients (pet owners) about their medications and maintains an accurate, up to date profile. 
• Verify the work performed by support personnel, which includes pet drug data entry. 
• The ability to focus on tasks and quickly complete them is important to being efficient in this role.
• Ability to use multiple data entry systems, knowledge of prescription prescribing, and multitask between job functions.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical calculations and compounded preparations is preferred.

Requirements: 

• Veterinary Compounding experience preferred. 
• Experience with PCAB accreditation preferred. 
• Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a current Pharmacist license in good standing. 
• Multiple state licenses preferred.

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive.
